The first floor of the bungalow, which covers an area of 3,118.62 sq ft, was bought for ₹31 crore, with an additional ₹2.17 crore paid in stamp duty. Mittal, who could not be reached for comment, has thus secured a total built-up area of 7,965.5 sq ft for his new residence.

The area is characterized by its large, well-maintained bungalows, many of which are several decades old. Property brokers in the area note that most bungalows in Sunder Nagar are around 800 sq yd, featuring a ground and first floor, with a barsati on the second floor that can serve as a one-bedroom house. The total built-up area of these houses typically ranges from 6,000 to 8,000 sq ft.

The real estate market in Sunder Nagar has seen significant high-value transactions in recent years. For instance, a 900 sq yd bungalow in the area was sold for around ₹100 crore last year. Another notable transaction involved a 867 sq yd bungalow that was sold for approximately ₹96 crore. These deals highlight the continued interest in the area among the elite and affluent.

In 2024, former attorney general of India Mukul Rohatgi and his wife Vasudha sold a bungalow in Sunder Nagar for ₹100 crore to Vikram Goyal, a resident of the same locality. Similarly, Ameera Shah, managing director at Metropolis Healthcare, purchased a 9,896 square feet bungalow in the Sunder Nagar area for ₹64 crore in 2022.
