Adilabad Police Cracks Down on Real Estate Agents Encroaching ED-Attached Land

Adilabad police have taken significant action against real estate agents involved in the encroachment of land attached by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and mortgaged to the State Bank of India (SBI). Two real estate agents were arrested, and eight others were booked for their involvement in the illegal occupation of the land.

The operation, which took place on Sunday evening, saw the arrest of Ramesh Sharma and Ibrahim Mohammed alias Mamla. The duo, along with a gang of real estate agents, allegedly encroached on 2.10 acres of land belonging to Manoj Kumar Agarwal. The land had been attached by the ED in connection with a financial crime.

Adilabad Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) L Jeevan Reddy confirmed the arrests and provided details of the operation. According to him, the accused used fake title documents to claim ownership of the land. The landowner, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, admitted to selling the property to Punam Vyas with the assistance of Ibrahim and others.

A case was registered against Ramesh Sharma, Ibrahim Mohammed, Yathendranath, Hithendranath, Rakesh Sharma, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Punam Vyas, Anuman Vyas, Shivaji, and another person. They are charged with occupying the land using fraudulent documents and threatening the public.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is a federal law enforcement agency in India responsible for investigating financial crimes and enforcing economic laws. The State Bank of India (SBI) is one of the largest banks in the country, and the encroachment of ED-attached land mortgaged to SBI is a serious offense.

The police have vowed to continue their efforts to prevent such illegal activities and ensure that the law is upheld. The case is currently under investigation, and further legal action is expected to follow.

The public is advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving land encroachments or fraudulent real estate transactions to the local authorities. This operation serves as a strong message to those who attempt to exploit the system and highlights the commitment of the Adilabad police to maintaining law and order.
