Amitabh Bachchan Makes 47% Profit by Selling Two Mumbai Luxury Flats for Rs 12 Crore
Investing in real estate has become increasingly common, with people from all walks of life, including celebrities, participating actively in the property market. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is one such figure, recently selling two of his luxury flats in Goregaon, Mumbai.
Bachchan, who originally purchased these flats in 2012 for Rs 8.12 crore, has seen a substantial return on investment, making approximately 47% profit over the 13 years.
The flats, located on the 47th floor of the Oberoi Exquisite building in Goregaon East, were sold to Asha Ishwar Shukla and Mamta Surajdev Shukla for Rs 6 crore each. The first transaction, involving a stamp duty of Rs 30 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000, was registered on October 31, 2025. The second flat’s registration was completed a day later, on November 1, 2025. Both properties included four car parking spaces.
This sale is not an isolated incident for Amitabh Bachchan. In January 2025, he sold a duplex apartment in ‘The Atlantis’ building in Andheri for Rs 83 crore, which had a carpet area of 5,185 square feet.
Amitabh and his son Abhishek Bachchan are actively involved in real estate investments. In 2024, Abhishek acquired six flats in the Oberoi Sky City project in Borivali for Rs 15.42 crore. The same year, Amitabh and Abhishek jointly purchased 10 flats in the Oberoi Eternia project in Mulund West for Rs 24.94 crore.
Continuing their real estate ventures, the Bachchans also recently bought three plots of land in Alibaug, a coastal area near Mumbai popular as a holiday destination. The plots, part of the ‘A Alibaug’ Phase-2 project developed by House of Abhinandan Lodha, cover 9,557 square feet and cost Rs 6.59 crore.
The Bachchans’ strategic investments in prime locations reflect their keen understanding of the real estate market and their ability to capitalize on lucrative opportunities. Their continued involvement in the sector is a testament to their financial acumen and long-term vision.
