Andhra Pradesh's New Sand and Mining Policies Boost Real Estate Sector
VIJAYAWADA: Excise and Mines Minister Kollu Ravindra emphasized the importance of citizen cooperation in the reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh during his speech at the Amaravati Property Festival–2025. The event, organized by NAREDCO at A-Convention in Vijayawada, brought together key stakeholders in the real estate sector.
Ravindra highlighted several government initiatives aimed at boosting the real estate market. He noted that Andhra Pradesh is the only state in India implementing a free sand policy, which has significantly reduced construction costs and made the sector more attractive for investors. Additionally, the state has streamlined the process for obtaining mining permissions, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in the industry.
The Minister credited Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the corrective measures that have revitalized the state's economy. According to Ravindra, land values in Andhra Pradesh have now surpassed those in Telangana, a testament to the effectiveness of the government's policies. He also praised NAREDCO for creating numerous opportunities for buyers through the property expo, which has generated significant interest and investment.
At the valedictory session, AP RERA Chairman Are Siva Reddy assured builders that the authority would act as a 'friend and facilitator'. He promised to clear applications within 24 hours if they were filed according to the norms. Reddy urged developers to adopt green building practices, emphasizing the environmental and economic benefits of sustainable construction. He also announced a large-scale meeting within 15 days to address industry concerns and called on unorganised real estate agents to register formally under RERA.
A major attraction at the festival was the CRDA’s miniature models of proposed Amaravati government complexes. These models drew large crowds, with visitors taking selfies and envisioning the future of the capital city. The event not only showcased the state's progress but also highlighted the potential for further growth in the real estate sector.
The Amaravati Property Festival–2025 was a significant milestone in Andhra Pradesh's efforts to attract investment and promote development. The government's proactive measures, coupled with the enthusiasm of the real estate community, signal a bright future for the state's property market.
