Angelina Jolie Plans to Sell Her Historic Los Feliz Estate: What You Need to Know
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, 50, is reportedly planning to list her renowned Los Feliz estate for sale, according to reports from People. The iconic mansion, which she purchased in 2017 for $24.5 million (approximately Rs 214 crore), will undergo some minor updates before being put on the market.
Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie, who has lived in Los Angeles for many years, is preparing to leave the city. Her decision is motivated by her desire to start a new chapter in her life once her youngest children reach adulthood.
The primary reason Jolie has remained in Los Angeles is due to her custody arrangement with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. They share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. The twins will turn 18 next year, and sources close to People say that Jolie will then be free to move abroad, something she has long desired. According to Hollywood Reporter, she plans to spend significant time in Cambodia, where she adopted her eldest son, Maddox, in 2002.
Meanwhile, her LA property has a rich history. Built in 1913, it was purchased by legendary filmmaker Cecil B DeMille in 1916. Later, he also acquired a neighboring property once owned by Charlie Chaplin. The combined estate is regarded as one of the most beautiful and historic locations in the Los Feliz region.
The property covers about 11,000 square feet. It houses six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a tea house, landscaped gardens, a tea house, a pool with fountains, four fireplaces, a wine cellar, and many other luxurious amenities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jolie lived here with her children. She also offered shelter to friends who had lost their homes in wildfires, reports NDTV.
Her home’s sale is likely to be one of the most talked-about celebrity real estate deals of the year, given its history and connection to Hollywood’s golden era.
On the work front, Jolie was last seen in Maria (2024), a compelling portrayal of opera legend Maria Callas. She also directed, wrote, and co-produced Without Blood, a war drama that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Her sons, Maddox and Pax, worked as assistant directors on this film.
