APRERA Champions Transparency and Consumer Protection in Andhra Pradesh's Real Estate Sector

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (APRERA) Chairperson A Siva Reddy addressed the media on Monday, reiterating the authority's commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and consumer protection in the real estate sector.

Reddy highlighted that all real estate agents and entities involved in the sale or marketing of plots, apartments, or buildings must register on the official AP RERA website before engaging in any transactions. This mandatory registration is a crucial step to maintain a high level of integrity and trust in the market.

Project approvals will be issued promptly once the required documents are submitted, Reddy assured. The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act is designed to ensure safe and transparent property transactions. Reddy also emphasized that complaints against misleading claims by real estate firms would be resolved without delay, further solidifying consumer confidence.

To further educate and inform the public, awareness programmes will be conducted across 13 districts from December 2025 to December 2026. These programmes aim to provide comprehensive information about the rights and responsibilities of both buyers and sellers in the real estate market.

APRERA Director K Naga Sundari provided detailed statistics on the authority's activities since January 2025. She reported that 1,011 applications have been received, with 731 approved. Additionally, 214 projects, 27 marketing agencies, and 285 complaints have been processed. These numbers underscore the proactive approach APRERA is taking to regulate and improve the real estate sector in Andhra Pradesh.
