AZB & Partners Advises Baby Memorial Hospital on ₹1,600 Crore Star Hospitals Acquisition
KKR-backed Baby Memorial Hospital Limited has acquired a majority stake in Unimed Health Care Private Limited, which operates the Star Hospitals chain in Hyderabad, in a transaction valued at approximately ₹1,600 crore. This acquisition marks a significant expansion for Baby Memorial Hospital Limited and strengthens its presence in India's growing healthcare sector.
Star Hospitals is among Hyderabad's leading multi-specialty healthcare providers, offering advanced medical and surgical services across a wide range of specialties, including cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, nephrology, orthopedics, critical care, organ transplantation, and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
AZB & Partners acted as legal counsel to Baby Memorial Hospital Limited in relation to the transaction. The firm's deal team was led by Senior Partner Nandish Vyas and comprised Senior Associates Karun Jhangiani, Anish Patel, and Vyoma Mehta, along with Associates Prapti Parwani and Tarini Mehtani.
