Bahuguna Law Associates Launches White Collar Crime Practice Led by Laksh Khanna
Bahuguna Law Associates (BLA) has announced the launch of a dedicated White Collar Crime practice, spearheaded by Laksh Khanna, who joins the firm as a Partner. Khanna brings a wealth of experience in anti-corruption, money laundering, and economic offences, making him a valuable addition to the firm.
Khanna has over 15 years of experience in high-stakes litigation and dispute resolution. His career has seen him take on significant roles, including that of an Additional Public Prosecutor at the High Court of Delhi, where he gained deep insights into the prosecution's strategy in criminal matters. Prior to this, he was part of the Criminal Litigation team at Karanjawala & Co., where he successfully represented clients across the Real Estate, Pharmaceutical, Banking, and Media sectors.
Joining Khanna at BLA are two of his associates, Diksha Suri and Riya Jain. Suri, formerly an Associate at Kred Jure, and Jain, a former Law Researcher at the Delhi High Court, bring their own expertise and experience to the new practice.
Saket Bahuguna, Founder and Managing Partner of BLA, commented on the expansion, “The intersection of business and criminal law requires more than just reactive litigation; it demands proactive risk management. Laksh’s background in both prosecution and defence gives him a unique vantage point. His addition allows us to offer corporate clients a robust shield for both Civil and Criminal disputes in the increasingly litigious environment we see today.”
Senior Partners Ritesh Kumar and Meghna Mishra added, “Diversifying into a dedicated white-collar crime practice is the need of the hour. Given BLA’s deep footprint in Real Estate, Banking and Financial Services litigation, we have seen increasing client demand to integrate specialised criminal defence capabilities. This vertical represents a much-needed expansion, ensuring we can now fully service the complex needs of our clients at BLA as a one-stop solution dealing with the full spectrum of Civil, Criminal, and Regulatory Needs.”
Speaking on his appointment, Khanna, Partner, said, “I am elated to be joining the firm to head its Criminal Law Practice. I look forward to not only assist the Firm’s existing clientele with their Criminal and Regulatory needs but also to expand the Criminal Law Practice: aiming to develop a long-term, sustainable vertical that integrates seamlessly with the firm’s broader service capabilities.”
This new practice is poised to enhance BLA’s comprehensive legal services, providing clients with a robust and specialized approach to navigating the complex landscape of white-collar crime. With Khanna’s leadership and the support of his new team, BLA is well-equipped to meet the growing demand for high-quality legal representation in this critical area.
