The Indian Law Society’s Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), Pune, is offering its Autonomous Online Diploma in Housing Laws from November 10, 2025, to February 10, 2026. This four-days-a-week evening course covers property law, documentation, land and building regulation, and a dedicated module on the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA), taught by Pune Bar practitioners, ILS faculty, and industry experts.

The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) was established in 1991 by the Indian Law Society, Pune, with the objective of promoting research in law and offering specialized academic programs across diverse branches of legal study for the benefit of the common man. The Institute conducts courses on subjects of socio-legal importance, aiming to foster a robust legal culture within the Indian community by imparting basic legal knowledge relevant to everyday life, thereby upholding and strengthening the rule of law.

The Diploma in Housing Laws is a unique academic program initiated in 1995 by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) — an allied institution of the Indian Law Society. Since its inception, the course has attracted a large number of participants and has held a distinctive place in promoting legal awareness among the common people. This program is designed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the complex legal framework governing immovable property, housing, and real estate in India. Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet any one of the following requirements: - Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University - Student currently pursuing the 4th or 5th year of the B.A. LL.B. program - Students who are pursuing LL.B. degree program are eligible to apply.

Passing Requirement: Minimum 50% A Diploma Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course, bearing the seal and signature of the President of the Indian Law Society. Note: Participants with less than 75% attendance will not be permitted to appear for the final examination.
