InterGlobe-CAE Joint Venture Launches Advanced Pilot Training Centre in Mumbai

CAE Simulation Training Private Limited (CSTPL), a joint venture between InterGlobe Enterprises (which owns IndiGo Airlines) and Canadian flight simulator technology company CAE, officially announced the opening of a pilot training centre in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The 44,000-square-foot centre in Mumbai, with a capacity to house up to six full-flight simulators (FFS), will begin operations in the first quarter of 2026 with two Airbus A320 simulators, a company statement said.

CSTPL already operates three commercial aviation training centres in Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Bengaluru, with a capacity to operate up to 23 full-flight simulators (FFS). The new Mumbai centre will offer comprehensive pilot training programmes on Airbus, ATR, and Boeing aircraft, including type rating, recurrent training, and proficiency checks.

CAE’s Division President for Commercial Aviation, Michel Azar-Hmouda, said, “The new Mumbai centre expands CSTPL’s ability to meet the rapidly growing demand for professional pilots in India, which would be as many as 20,000 over the next 10 years.”

InterGlobe Enterprises CEO Aditya Pande said, “We are delighted to expand CSTPL to Mumbai, in addition to our commercial aviation training centres in Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Bengaluru. InterGlobe Enterprises and CAE are committed to building an ecosystem in aviation that will cater to the growing current and future demand for training pilots in India.”

The new facility in Mumbai is a significant step in enhancing the aviation training infrastructure in India. It underscores the commitment of both InterGlobe Enterprises and CAE to meet the increasing demand for skilled pilots in the region. The centre will not only serve the needs of IndiGo Airlines but also other domestic and international carriers, contributing to the overall growth and safety of the aviation industry in India.
