Lamborghini Crash on Mumbai’s Coastal Road Mirrors 'The Bads of Bollywood'

Gautam Singhania, Managing Director of Raymond Ltd, shared a viral video of an orange Lamborghini Huracán crashing into a divider on Mumbai’s coastal road on Sunday. The incident has drawn comparisons to a scene from the recently released film 'The Bads of Bollywood', where Bobby Deol’s character crashes a pink Ferrari during a high-speed race.

An official told PTI on Monday that the driver of the car was unhurt in the crash. The car was being driven by 52-year-old Atish Shah, who lost control of his sportscar due to wet roads caused by the rain. Shah, a resident of Nepean Sea Road, has been charged with rash driving. He was on his way to Colaba in south Mumbai when the crash occurred.

The crash led to extensive damage to the front end of the Lamborghini, which was later towed from the road. The official stated that the Worli police have sent the car to the Regional Transport Office for inspection to check for any technical faults.

The Coastal Road currently starts at Princess flyover in Marine Drive and ends at Worli, with further plans for expansion. The speed limit on the road is 80 kmph on straight stretches.

In a similar incident that took place in Delhi earlier, a BMW driver lost control of her vehicle, which struck a two-wheeler, leading to the death of a 57-year-old finance ministry official. The victim's wife has accused the BMW driver of taking them to a small private hospital far from the accident site, which allegedly contributed to her husband's death due to serious head and leg injuries. The bail of the main accused, Gaganpreet Kaur, has been put off until Wednesday by a Delhi court.
