Mahesh Babu Faces Legal Notice Over Rs. 34.8 Lakh Real Estate Scam
Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu, who is currently working with SS Rajamouli on SSMB29, has landed in another legal trouble. The Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana issued notices against him on Monday, July 7, 2025. The case involves allegations that he misled buyers by endorsing a real estate project that turned out to be a scam worth ₹34.8 lakh.
According to the complaint, a Hyderabad-based doctor and another buyer invested in plots advertised by Sai Surya Developers. They claimed the promotional brochures featured Mahesh Babu and promised attractive deals and valid approvals. Trusting the actor’s reputation, they invested their savings—only to discover later that the layout didn’t even exist. The builder allegedly refunded ₹15 lakh in parts but left a significant amount unpaid.
Mahesh Babu has been named the third respondent in the case, along with Sai Surya Developers and its owner, Kancherla Satish Chandra Gupta. The complaint accuses him of misleading buyers by lending credibility to the company through his endorsement.
This is not the first time Mahesh Babu’s name has been linked to this controversy. In April 2025, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a notice to him in connection with a suspected money laundering case involving the same real estate firm. The ED is investigating a payment of ₹5.9 crore made to the actor, including ₹2.5 crore in cash, raising concerns about unaccounted transactions.
So far, Mahesh Babu has not publicly responded to the allegations. He continues to shoot for his upcoming film, SSMB39, directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The film is highly anticipated, and fans are closely following the developments to see if these legal cases will impact his image or the film's success.
