Michael Jordan's Highland Park Estate Now Available on Airbnb
Michael Jordan's former Highland Park, Illinois, home could serve as the perfect getaway for fans of luxury, privacy, and, of course, basketball. The two-story estate, which was built in 1995, has seven bedrooms and 17.5 bathrooms. It sold for $9.5 million in December and is now available for rental on Airbnb.
The home, now owned by John Cooper, a real estate investor, has become a dream destination for basketball enthusiasts and luxury seekers. According to NBC News, the listing requires a minimum seven-night stay and can accommodate up to 12 guests. Guests must sign a liability waiver and nondisclosure agreement and pay a $25,000 security deposit.
Amenities at the estate include a full-size basketball court, putting green, tennis court, cigar room, and an infinity pool. The signature feature is a giant entrance gate with the number 23, Jordan's jersey number from his Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards playing days.
Champions Point, as the 32,683-square-foot mansion is known, was built on 7 acres of land that Jordan purchased in 1991. It first hit the market on December 17, 2013, for $29 million. The closing deal marked a 67% price reduction after being on the market for 12 years.
John Cooper, the current owner, is still considering many different uses for the property. 'I am still considering many different uses for the property,' he said. 'Some great uses require zoning relief, but in the meantime short-term rentals are a permitted use to bring exposure to the property and generate some revenue.'
A weeklong stay at the iconic estate could cost over six figures, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those who can afford it. The estate offers a glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle of one of the greatest basketball players of all time, providing a unique blend of history, luxury, and sports memorabilia.
For those who are fans of Michael Jordan or simply appreciate top-tier luxury, the Highland Park estate is a must-see. Whether you are looking to host a private event, enjoy a quiet retreat, or simply immerse yourself in the legacy of a basketball legend, this property offers an unparalleled experience.
