Mumbai Police Arrest Man for Conspiracy in Shooting of Real Estate Agent

A day after a 42-year-old real estate agent was shot at by three unidentified assailants in Kandivali (West), the Mumbai police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy to attack him. The police identified the arrested accused as Munna Mayuddin Shaikh alias Guddu, a 35-year-old manager in a bar and restaurant. Shaikh was produced in court, which remanded him in police custody until November 27.

The police are still searching for the three shooters, and several teams from the Crime Branch and local police are actively involved in the hunt. During their investigation, the police discovered that Shaikh had planned to kill Freddy D’lima over a financial dispute. A police officer stated that D’lima has enmity with several individuals, and some of them are currently being questioned to gather more leads.

The shooting incident took place around 2 pm on Wednesday when D’lima was leaving a school in Ganesh Nagar after a meeting. As he stepped out, three people who were waiting outside opened fire at him. One bullet hit his abdomen, and another hit his chest, according to the police. The attackers were well-prepared; the bike rider and one pillion rider were wearing helmets, while the third man was wearing a cap. The shooters had their faces covered with masks to avoid identification.

Despite sustaining serious injuries, D’lima managed to drive himself to Oscar Hospital, where he is currently being treated. Doctors at the hospital successfully removed both bullets, and D’lima is now out of danger, a police officer confirmed.

The Charkop police have registered a case under the sections of attempt to murder and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). CCTV cameras in the area are being reviewed, and a forensic team has collected evidence from the scene of the crime.

The arrest of Shaikh is a significant breakthrough in the case, and the police are hopeful that it will lead to the apprehension of the remaining suspects. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
