Mumbai Police: Orry and Siddhant Kapoor Uncooperative in Drug Investigation
Mumbai: Social media influencer Orry, known for his viral content and presence at high-profile events, was called for interrogation by Mumbai's Anti-Narcotics Cell in connection with a significant drug investigation. According to officials, Orry did not cooperate fully during the questioning and provided limited information.
The Mumbai Crime Branch stated that Orry consistently claimed he does not know Salim Sohail Shaikh, has no connection with him, and has never spoken to him. He also clarified that although he attends many Bollywood parties every day, drugs are not involved in those events, nor does he use or have any involvement with them. Orry explained that he attends Bollywood parties mainly to get his photographs taken.
Orry was questioned for over seven hours on Wednesday. Police were not satisfied with his answers, and there is a strong possibility he may be called again for further questioning.
Actor Siddhant Kapoor, the brother of actress Shraddha Kapoor, was also interrogated for five hours. Police discovered a new mobile phone in his possession. When asked, Siddhant said his old phone had broken down, and he had bought a new one just two days ago. He, too, did not cooperate fully with the investigation.
Orry belongs to Mumbai’s elite social circle and has become a pop-culture phenomenon without holding a conventional profession. He is friends with many new-generation Bollywood actors and is known for his social media posts. Orry’s father, Suraj K Awatramani, is a businessman in real estate, hospitality, and beverage manufacturing.
Orry has become famous for his trademark captions, chaotic humour, and deliberately enigmatic answers to questions about his work. His presence at film promotions, celebrity birthdays, fashion events, and private gatherings, combined with exaggerated poses and viral content, has made him a symbol of modern celebrity culture where visibility itself is considered a vocation. He has also appeared on several chat shows and given absurdist statements, further cementing his public persona.
The ongoing investigation by the Mumbai Police highlights the complexity of the drug case and the need for thorough and transparent questioning of all involved parties. The uncooperative stance of both Orry and Siddhant Kapoor adds another layer of challenge to the investigation, potentially leading to more intense scrutiny and follow-up interrogations.
