Navi Mumbai Launches Women’s Safety Campaign with Street Plays

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a week-long campaign featuring street plays across the city to engage citizens in meaningful dialogue about women’s rights, safety measures, and the importance of community involvement. Running from May 30 to June 6, this initiative is part of NMMC’s broader commitment to fostering a safer and more inclusive environment for women.

Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailash Shinde, the Social Development Department has collaborated with Shravasti Natya Sanstha to present these performances. The plays will be staged at various locations across all eight ward divisions, ensuring widespread accessibility and participation.

The schedule is as follows:

May 30 – Digha and Ghansoli Divisions:

- Digha: Front of Hindmata Vidyalaya, Vishnunagar Naka, near Ilthanpada Digha Vihri, near Siddhivinayak Temple (Ishwar Nagar), near Namumpa Toilet (Ramnagar). - Ghansoli: Dagdu Chahu Patil Chowk, near D-Mart, Haware Chowk, Bhimnagar (Rabale), Nosil Naka.

May 31 – Vashi Division:

- Sec. 9 Mini Market (in front of Warna Dairy), Juhugaon (Namumpa School No. 27), Washigaon Machhi Market (Premanath Chowk), Sec. 6/7 (Janata Market), Sec. 9A (Noor Masjid).

June 2 – Turbhe Division:

- Indiranagar Samaj Mandir, Turbhe Store (near Dr. Ambedkar Statue), Koparigaon (Bhaji Market near the cremation ground), Bank of India (Sec. 24), Sanpada Station Khamagalli.

June 3 – Koparkhairane Division:

- Sec. 15 (Gulab Sons Dairy), Sec. 6 (near Railway Station), Bonkode (water tank), Shramik Nagar Slum (Samaj Mandir), Koparkhairane Sec. 1 to 4 Maidan.

June 4 – Nerul Division:

- Vidya Bhavan School (Sec. 18), Bancholi Maidan (Sec. 20), Sahakar Bazar (Sec. 6), Nerul Railway Station (front), Sec. 8 (Ground in front of Library).

June 5 – Belapur Division:

- Karvegaon (Talav Bus Stop), Daravegaon (Nageshwar Talav Circle), Diwalegaon (Machhi Market), Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar (Sec. 8 CBD), Belapurgaon Talav.

June 6 – Airoli Division:

Each session is scheduled for two daily performances: from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and again from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
