Pune-Bengaluru Expressway Set to Transform Travel by 2028

The much-awaited Pune-Bengaluru Expressway is set to revolutionize travel and connectivity between the two major cities by the end of 2028. Officials have confirmed that this ambitious project, part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, will cost around Rs 50,000 crore. The expressway will not only cut the current travel time from 15 hours to just 7 hours but also reduce traffic congestion and enhance overall travel efficiency.

The expressway will pass through multiple districts in Karnataka, including Bengaluru Rural, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Davangere, Vijayanagar, Koppal, Gadag, Bagalkot, and Belgaum. Additionally, it will cover three districts in Maharashtra: Sangli, Satara, and Pune. Construction is currently underway, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2028, as reported by 99 acres.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has stated that the expressway will serve as an alternative to NH-48, providing a more convenient and faster route for travelers. Vehicles will be allowed to travel at a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour, further enhancing travel efficiency. The residents of these districts have been demanding the expressway for many years, and its completion is expected to meet their long-standing needs.
