Pune: Father Murders Son in Fursungi After Drunken Altercation, Police Make Arrest

Fursungi, 21st July 2025: A tragic and deeply disturbing incident unfolded in Pune’s Fursungi area, where a 59-year-old man allegedly murdered his son following a violent confrontation under the influence of alcohol. The event has left the local community in disbelief.

The victim has been identified as Prashant Suresh Jamdade (Age 35). The accused, Suresh Baburao Jamdade, a resident of Kailasnagar, Valva Vasti, Vadki in Haveli, has been arrested by police on charges of homicide.

Police reports indicate that the deceased was a habitual alcohol consumer, often creating turmoil within the household. On the night of the incident, Prashant reportedly returned home heavily intoxicated and began verbally abusing his parents, a behavior that had become increasingly frequent.

This time, the argument turned physical. In a sudden outburst of rage, Suresh Jamdade allegedly overpowered his son, strangled him with a cotton towel, and smashed his head repeatedly against the floor, causing fatal injuries.
