Pune Fraud Case: Viman Nagar Consultancy Firm CEO Arrested for Duping 76 Youths
Viman Nagar, 11th March 2026: The Airport Police in Pune have arrested the chief executive officer of a consultancy firm, Quantumsoft Technologies, for allegedly duping dozens of job seekers. The accused collected training fees and promised lucrative employment but failed to pay the salaries as promised. The police said the accused cheated 76 youngsters of a total Rs 1.52 crore.
The case came to light after a 33-year-old resident of Pimple Nilakh filed a complaint at the Airport Police Station on Monday morning. Based on the complaint and preliminary inquiry, the police later arrested the accused the same night.
Senior Inspector Govind Jadhav of the Airport Police Station identified the arrested accused as Nikhileshwar Kshirsagar, who was operating a consultancy office in a commercial building in Viman Nagar. Kshirsagar, originally from Amravati, runs a firm whose registered head office is located in that city.
According to the police, the alleged fraud occurred between September 2025 and March 2026. Investigators said the accused approached young job seekers and offered them professional training for a period of two months, claiming it would lead to well-paying positions within his organisation.
Jadhav said the accused collected fees from candidates for the training programme and later recruited several of them. However, after the candidates started working, they were not paid the promised salaries. When the employees repeatedly demanded their wages and also sought a refund of the training fees they had paid, the accused allegedly refused to return the money.
Police said Kshirsagar was produced before a city court, which remanded him to police custody until March 16 for further investigation. During questioning, the accused reportedly told investigators that his firm had not received any new projects or assignments, which he cited as the reason for not paying the employees.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and more victims may come forward as the probe progresses. The police are urging anyone who believes they may have been a victim of this scheme to come forward and provide information.
