Pune Police Conducts Raid on Nilesh Ghaywal’s Kothrud Residence, Seizing Valuable Documents and Ammunition
Kothrud, 6th October 2025: Pune city police conducted a raid today at the residence of notorious gangster Nilesh Ghaywal in Kothrud, seizing around 40 documents, gun bullets, passport and Aadhaar-related papers, debit cards, land records, share certificates, and other legal documents.
Ghaywal, who is currently believed to have fled to London, has been at the center of discussions regarding how he obtained a passport and whether he received political favors or assistance from law enforcement agencies.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam said that a Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) case had been registered at Kothrud Police Station. “We obtained a search warrant from the MCOCA court and conducted a raid at Ghaywal’s house and office today. Documents recovered include those related to gun bullets, 7/12 land extracts, stock certificates, and various land holdings. Investigations are ongoing regarding the details of these documents,” DCP Kadam added.
Preliminary information indicates that several of the land records pertain to windmill properties in Marathwada. Ghaywal, who has been active in Pune’s criminal underworld for years, reportedly expanded his operations to Ahilyanagar, Beed, and Dharashiv districts. Investigations suggest that he earned substantial money by allegedly threatening owners of windmill companies in the region.
Pune Police have also written to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) regarding Ghaywal’s unclaimed assets. Authorities plan to investigate unauthorized constructions and properties registered in his name. PMC sources indicate that action may soon be taken against these illegal properties.
The raid and subsequent investigations are expected to shed light on the extent of Ghaywal’s criminal network and any potential collusion with authorities. The Pune Police are determined to bring Ghaywal to justice and ensure that his illegal activities are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.
