Real Estate: Pivotal to Prime Minister's Vision of Viksit Bharat@2047
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel of Gujarat addressed the National Conclave of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) in Delhi, emphasizing the pivotal role of the real estate sector in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. Patel called upon developers to work closely with the Centre and state governments to achieve this ambitious goal.
Addressing the conclave, Patel highlighted the Prime Minister’s Housing for All initiative and urged the real estate industry to contribute meaningfully to inclusive and sustainable urban development. He stressed that real estate development is not just about constructing buildings but creating spaces where family aspirations take shape, businesses expand, and livelihoods are created.
Patel encouraged developers to build homes that are deeply rooted in Indian ethos, incorporating indigenous designs supported by global technology. He emphasized the importance of reflecting the spirit of ‘Made in India’ while preserving the country’s heritage and values. This approach, he noted, will not only enhance the quality of life but also promote a sense of cultural pride and identity.
In his address, Patel also underscored the need for sustainability and innovation in the real estate sector. He called for eco-friendly construction practices, the promotion of research and development, and long-term planning to manage resources effectively amid rapid urbanization. Patel highlighted that initiatives such as the Single Window Clearance system, digital land records, and time-bound approvals have already attracted developers to Gujarat, making it a preferred destination for real estate investment.
Gujarat’s focus on green buildings, renewable energy, water conservation, and waste management has further enhanced its appeal. Patel mentioned that these efforts are not only beneficial for the environment but also contribute to the overall economic growth and development of the state.
In another significant development, Chief Minister Patel approved the construction of a new bridge over the Sabarmati River at Rinza village in Tarapur Taluka, Anand district, for Rs 110 crore. This decision was taken after residents of Rinza, Nabhoi, Pachegam, and Dugari villages in Tarapur Taluka brought to the Chief Minister’s attention the issue of connectivity disruptions during the monsoon season due to changes in the Sabarmati River’s flow. The new bridge will significantly improve access and connectivity for these communities, enhancing their quality of life and economic opportunities.
Patel’s initiatives and vision for the real estate sector in Gujarat are aligned with the broader goals of sustainable and inclusive development. By fostering collaboration between the government and the industry, Gujarat aims to set a benchmark for real estate development that balances economic growth with environmental and social responsibility.
