Roswyn Mumbai: The Ultimate Blend of Luxury and Design
In a city where luxury hotels tend to lean either heritage or high-gloss, Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel, arrives as a design-forward pied-à-terre with unmistakable Bombay soul. Marking Ennismore’s first Morgans Originals property in India, the 109-suite hotel blends apartment-style living with the service and polish of a five-star stay.
Located minutes away from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Roswyn feels less like a conventional airport hotel and more like the kind of design-forward lifestyle address tailor-made for the modern luxury traveller who values character as much as convenience.
The launch day unfolded with a fireside conversation at The Third Room featuring Nitan and Smita Chhatwal of Shrem Group, Ennismore Group CEO Gaurav Bhushan, and Rajiv Kapoor, General Manager of Fairmont and Roswyn. Discussions explored the changing face of luxury travel, the rise of experience-led hospitality, and why India is becoming one of the world’s most exciting lifestyle hotel markets.
But it was during the hotel walkthrough that Roswyn’s identity truly came alive. Designed by Paris-based creative Daphné Desjeux, the 109-suite property embraces a rich art-forward design aesthetic that feels refreshingly bold and layered against the sea of muted luxury hotels dominating hospitality right now. Mirrored corridors drenched in jewel tones, sage green, layered textures, statement lighting, embroidered artwork, and unexpected details tucked into every corner. At times, moving through the hotel genuinely feels like stepping into another world entirely.
The suites themselves are designed as complete living spaces rather than traditional hotel rooms. Starting at 80 square metres, each features a lounge area, kitchenette, home bar, and dedicated workspace. Roswyn feels intentionally built for the way people travel today. Work trips extend into weekends, meetings evolve into dinners and social evenings, and travellers increasingly want hotels that feel immersive rather than transactional. Our tour guide for the day informed us that one could even call the chef inside to prep a meal for dinner while throwing house parties and staying for longer durations, a home away from home truly!
Food and nightlife are central to that experience. Fi’lia, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, brings handmade pastas, Neapolitan-style pizzas, and warm, lively interiors, along with classic tiramisus into the mix. Black Lacquer channels the intimacy of a Japanese listening bar through vinyl records and a carefully curated selection of spirits.
Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel, is not just a place to stay; it’s a destination in itself, offering a unique blend of luxury, design, and the vibrant essence of Mumbai.
