Shah Rukh Khan's Name Adorns Dubai's Latest Commercial Tower: A Milestone in Real Estate
Dubai-based real estate major Danube Properties, part of the $2 billion Danube Group, has unveiled its latest landmark project — a commercial tower on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road named after Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The development marks the first time a property has been officially branded with the actor’s name.
The 55-storey tower, Shahrukhz by Danube, was launched in Mumbai to attract Indian investors. The project has a gross saleable value of Rs 4,000 crore. Designed around the hanging tower concept, the grade-A commercial development will offer over 40 premium amenities and is targeted for completion by the second quarter of 2029.
Adel Sajan, group managing director at Danube Properties, said the project aims to position itself as a top-tier commercial destination in the region. “We are thrilled to partner with a global icon like Shah Rukh Khan. This project is not just a commercial venture but a symbol of our commitment to excellence and innovation,” he stated.
Shah Rukh Khan attended the launch in Mumbai, calling the gesture a major personal milestone. “My mother would have been very happy. It is a very big honour. When my kids come, I will tell them — ‘Papa ka naam likha hai, Papa ki building hai’,” he said at the event, which also saw the presence of Danube founder and chairman Rizwan Sajan.
Sajan added that the tower will carry Khan’s name in perpetuity. “The agreement we have with Shah Rukh is that this particular tower is going to have Shah Rukh’s name lifelong… Nobody else, at least in Dubai, can have that kind of tower in the near future,” he said.
Spread across more than 1 million square feet of built-up space, the tower will offer commercial units starting at USD 460,000. The project’s biggest advantage, the developer says, is its prime location: Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai’s main arterial corridor and a segment of the 558-km E11 highway that links Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah.
When asked whether Danube plans to launch more real estate projects under Shah Rukh Khan’s branding, Sajan declined to comment. “We are currently focused on the successful completion and launch of Shahrukhz by Danube. Future projects will be announced in due course,” he added.
Danube Group is one of the Middle East’s largest diversified conglomerates, with businesses spanning building materials, hospitality, home décor, and real estate. Its property arm, Danube Properties, operates mainly in Dubai, focusing on luxury residential and commercial developments.
