Supreme Court Expresses Concern Over Real Estate Disputes in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai

The bench noted, 'This problem of real estate is very severe in these two places. In Delhi-NCR, there are lakhs and lakhs of homebuyers who are affected by housing projects. In Mumbai, it is the case with the redevelopment projects. Nowhere else does this happen. In Gujarat, you will not find a single case where there are disputes with regard to real estate projects. This affects the reputation of real estate developers.'
Justice Pardiwala urged the lawyers representing various builders to reflect on the issue and find a way to address the growing number of disputes. The court is currently dealing with several high-profile real estate cases, including those involving Unitech, Amrapali Group, Jaypee, and Supertech Group.
