Sushmita Sen’s Mother Buys Two Luxurious Flats in Mumbai’s Goregaon East for ₹17 Crore

Subhra Sen, the mother of Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, has made a substantial investment in the real estate market by purchasing two apartments in Goregaon East, Mumbai, for a total of ₹16.89 crore. According to property registration documents reviewed by real estate marketplace Square Yards on the website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), the transactions were registered in November 2025.

The two apartments are located in Oberoi Realty’s Elysian project, a prime residential development in Goregaon East. The first property purchased by Subhra Sen is worth ₹8.40 crore and has a RERA carpet area of 163.59 sq. m. (1,760 sq. ft.). This purchase includes one car parking space. The transaction involved a stamp duty payment of ₹42.02 lakh and registration charges of ₹30,000, as shown in the documents.

Subhra Sen's second purchase amounts to ₹8.49 crore, with the same RERA carpet area as the first apartment and also comes with one parking spot. This transaction incurred a stamp duty of ₹42.49 lakh and registration fees of ₹30,000.

Subhra Sen, a renowned jewellery designer, could not be reached for a comment on her recent property acquisitions.

According to Square Yards Data Intelligence, the Elysian project by Oberoi Realty has recorded 172 sale registrations with a total transaction value of ₹1,715 crore. The average property price in the project stands at ₹47,641 per sq. ft.

Goregaon East, a rapidly developing area in Mumbai, is well-connected through major roadways such as the Western Express Highway, Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR), and the Goregaon railway station. These connections ensure seamless travel to prime commercial hubs like Andheri, Powai, and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).

The locality is home to a growing cluster of corporate parks, IT offices, and media establishments, attracting a diverse community of professionals. With major developments such as the expanding metro network, the upcoming Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, and its proximity to key lifestyle destinations like Oberoi Mall and Film City, Goregaon East is rapidly evolving into a vibrant, urban centre.

In August this year, Sushmita Sen paid a heartfelt birthday tribute to her mother, Subhra Sen, a jewellery designer, calling her a ‘rockstar’ and her ‘hero.’ This recent property investment further underscores Subhra Sen’s significant presence in the real estate market and her strategic investments in premium locations.

The acquisition of these two apartments in the Elysian project not only highlights the growing interest in Goregaon East but also reflects the increasing trend of high-net-worth individuals investing in premium real estate developments in Mumbai.
