Telangana Invests Over 25,000 Crore in Hyderabad's Infrastructure, Boosting Real Estate Growth

Hyderabad: Telangana ministers on Friday underlined the state's commitment to infrastructure, housing, and tourism development, emphasizing the role of real estate as the backbone of the economy. Speaking at the 15th NAREDCO Telangana property show at HITEX, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka shared that the government is investing 25,631 crore in Hyderabad's sewerage and water supply systems.

Approvals were given for 39 new Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), with 11,927 crore earmarked for sewerage and water facilities and another 13,704 crore worth of proposals under consideration. He also highlighted that Hyderabad's real estate market is booming, citing a recent auction where land fetched 177 crore per acre.

Key infrastructure works include a 1,487-crore elevated corridor from Paradise Junction to the National Highway and road widening projects worth 3,619 crore in Shamirpet. The Deputy CM said, 'Hyderabad is poised to become a green city with all buses transitioning to electric vehicles, backed by tax exemptions.'

He also stressed the government's commitment to balanced urban growth, environmental sustainability, and job creation. 'Additionally, developers should also focus on housing for middle and lower-income groups in addition to premium projects,' he added.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said real estate is Telangana's economic driver, supporting over 300 allied sectors. He noted that progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and projects like the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and greenfield road to Machilipatnam port will create new growth corridors. 'Real estate keeps Telangana's growth wheel moving forward,' he said, adding that sectors like IT, pharma, and aerospace depend on it for expansion.

The three-day convention saw participation from developers, investors, and industry leaders. NAREDCO leaders hailed Telangana's policies as a model for real estate-led growth.
