TRAI Empowers RANext to Rate Digital Connectivity in Real Estate
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has appointed RANext Technologies as a Digital Connectivity Rating Agency (DCRA), marking a significant step in India’s push toward robust digital infrastructure in real estate projects. This empanelment authorises RANext to independently assess and rate the digital connectivity within buildings, helping developers, buyers, and tenants evaluate how future-ready properties are for broadband, Wi-Fi, and smart technologies.
RANext Technologies will focus on evaluating the quality and readiness of digital connectivity infrastructure in residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties. The assessments will cover various parameters, including fibre infrastructure standards, in-building network design, broadband and Wi-Fi performance, and preparedness for emerging smart technologies.
India’s rapid shift to a digital-first economy has made reliable connectivity essential across multiple sectors such as work, education, healthcare, banking, and entertainment. With nearly a billion internet users and increasing adoption of smart homes and offices, digital performance is becoming a key factor influencing how properties are used and valued. Despite this, many buildings are still designed without structured assessment of digital infrastructure. The DCRA framework addresses this gap through a standardised, star-based rating system that objectively measures a property’s digital readiness. These ratings are intended to provide clarity and comparability for stakeholders across the real estate ecosystem.
The DCRA role positions RANext as an independent evaluator rather than just a connectivity solutions provider.
