A 24-year-old woman, who was allegedly held hostage by her family in Bihar for refusing a forced marriage, has told the Bombay High Court that she wishes to live and work in Pune freely.

The woman told the Bombay High Court that she wishes to live and work in Pune of her own free will, without any interference from her parents. She stated that she is not under any threat or pressure from anyone and is not in contact with her parents.
The court noted that the woman is residing in Pune at her free will and is not under any threat. Following her statement, the petition was withdrawn. The court also stated that the woman is free to approach the court if there is any further cause of action.
