Senior Inspector Uttam Bhajnawale of the Chaturshringi police spoke to the Free Press Journal, stating that a dedicated team has been assigned to assist the Rabale police. As of now, no members of the Khedkar family are present at their bungalow in Baner. The Rabale police are currently stationed in Pune as part of the ongoing investigation.
According to sources, Dilip Khedkar fled from a taxi and is attempting to contact his lawyer to apply for anticipatory bail to avoid arrest. The Navi Mumbai team has confirmed that efforts are being made to track Dilip Khedkar and his security guard, Salunkhe. Additionally, Manorama Khedkar, Puja’s mother, is also under scrutiny for obstructing the police during their duties.
Khedkar's family has taken measures to evade detection by switching off their mobile phones and avoiding any online transactions. This has made it difficult for the police to pinpoint their exact location.
The case involves the alleged abduction of a truck cleaner, Prahlad Kumar, aged 22, on September 13. The incident occurred on Mulund-Airoli Road after Khedkar’s Range Rover car sustained scratches following a verbal altercation. Kumar was reportedly forcefully taken into their car and transported to their residence in Baner, Pune.
