Abhishek Bachchan’s Strategic Investments: From Personal Love to Business Success

Abhishek Bachchan’s interest in entrepreneurship runs parallel to his love for cinema. Over the years, the actor has quietly built a diverse investment portfolio, backing start-ups and established ventures alike. Interestingly, some of his most notable investments began not in boardrooms, but through personal consumption — products and services he genuinely used and enjoyed.

Speaking at the Global Business Summit 2026, Abhishek revealed how one of his most recent business associations began with something as simple as a love for spicy food.

How Naagin Hot Sauce Became A Strategic Investment

Abhishek shared that he serves as a strategic partner in Naagin, an Indian hot sauce brand founded in 2019. The association, he explained, happened organically.

“It came across my table by chance. I tasted it and loved it. I used it a lot and eventually contacted the people behind it, asking, ‘Can I get involved?’ They were looking at their first round of funding, and I came on board as a strategic partner. It’s a matter of great pride for me because it’s doing exceedingly well,” he said.

He also revealed that the brand occasionally receives unexpected promotion from home.

“It also helps when Mr Amitabh Bachchan posts photos of his breakfast with a bottle of Naagin sauce on the side,” he added.

The company reportedly raised over USD 1 million in 2022 and has continued expanding since.

From Ordering Dinner To Investing In Quick Commerce

Abhishek’s investments in Swiggy and Zepto, he admitted, followed a similar personal trajectory.

“One day, I ran out of Naagin sauce. I needed it. It was available somewhere. So I used a quick commerce app to have it delivered for dinner, and that’s how it came about,” he said.

The actor joked that he spends so much money on these platforms that investing in them felt like a natural extension.

Misal Pav And A Business Call To Swiggy

Abhishek also revealed that his partnership with Swiggy stemmed from his fondness for Thane’s Mamledar Misal, which he considers the best misal pav in the world.

“So I called up Swiggy one day and asked, ‘Guys, you deliver this to me every morning. Can I invest in you?’ I spend so much money on those companies for their services that I feel they should give back a bit. Then I try investing in them and make some money off them,” he said.

His business instincts, it seems, often follow his appetite.

Beyond Startups: Sports, Tea And Real Estate

Naagin and quick commerce platforms are only part of Abhishek’s entrepreneurial journey. He owns the Pro Kabaddi League franchise Jaipur Pink Panthers and is co-owner of the Indian Super League team Chennaiyin FC. He has also invested in Vahdam Tea alongside Sachin Tendulkar.

In addition to business ventures, he is an active property investor. According to Square Yards data, his real estate investments across Mumbai amount to approximately Rs 219 crore.

With Shah Rukh Khan’s King next on his film slate, Abhishek Bachchan continues to balance cinema with strategic entrepreneurship — proving that sometimes, passion and business acumen can go hand in hand.
