Affordable Housing Near Noida Airport: YEIDA’s New Scheme for EWS
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced a new affordable housing scheme aimed at providing plots to economically weaker sections (EWS) near the Noida International Airport. This initiative targets individuals with an annual income of up to Rs 3 lakh, including factory workers and daily wage earners, helping them build their own homes.
This scheme will be launched after receiving approval from the YEIDA Board on June 18. Over 3,000 plots will be made available in Sectors 18 and 20 of Jewar, each measuring 30 square meters. These plots are priced at Rs 7.5 lakh each, making homeownership a reality for many working-class individuals.
YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh has highlighted the rapid development of the area into a hub for industrial and other projects. Several domestic and international investors are setting up industries here, leading to a growing demand for housing among workers employed in these sectors. This scheme aims to meet that demand by providing affordable plots for them.
Each 30-square-meter plot is priced at Rs 7.5 lakh. Selected applicants will be allowed to pay this amount in easy installments over seven years. Of the total plots, 29% will be reserved for those working on YEIDA area projects, 5% for retired defense personnel, and another 5% for YEIDA employees.
YEIDA’s target is to allot at least 8,000 plots under this scheme, giving security guards, factory workers, and domestic helpers working near the Noida airport an opportunity to own a home. More plots may be added if needed. All plots will be allotted through a lucky draw. To be eligible for the draw, applicants must deposit 10% of the total cost in advance. Full details and dates of the scheme will be announced after the board meeting.
In April this year, YEIDA launched a residential plot scheme for those who wish to purchase a plot for building a house near the Noida International airport. Under this scheme, YEIDA offered 276 plots of 200 square meters, and the allotment was through a lucky draw.
The YEIDA is committed to fostering the development of the region and ensuring that all residents, regardless of their economic background, have the opportunity to own a home. This new scheme is a significant step towards achieving that goal.
