AI-Based Traffic Management: Minister Patil’s Plan for Kothrud
Real Estate Pune:Maharashtra Minister Chandrakant Patil on Friday held a crucial meeting at his residence to address the traffic situation in Pune's Kothrud. The meeting, which aimed to tackle the growing issue of traffic congestion, was attended by key officials from various departments. Patil directed the officials to focus on three key principles: inspection, action, and execution.

Patil emphasized the need to modernize traffic management systems. He instructed the officials to increase the number of CCTV cameras in the area and introduce an AI-based challan system. This advanced technology is expected to enhance traffic monitoring and enforcement, thereby reducing congestion and improving road safety.

During the meeting, Traffic Police Deputy Commissioner Himmat Jadhav, PMC Road Department’s Aniruddha Pawaskar, Anti-Encroachment Department’s Sandeep Khalate, and BJP Pune City General Secretary Puneet Joshi, among others, were present. The minister also proposed appointing 50 traffic wardens to assist in managing the flow of vehicles and identifying 50 hotspots for traffic jams.

Patil assured that the government will hold regular meetings to address traffic congestion issues not only in Kothrud but also in other areas like Baner and Balewadi. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to make Pune's roads safer and more efficient.

Last week, Patil addressed the Assembly regarding the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). He reported that the NCTE has cancelled the recognition of 16 B.Ed. colleges in the state due to non-compliance with regulatory standards. Of these 16 colleges, nine are closed and have not admitted any students. The remaining seven colleges, with a combined admission capacity of 500, had their recognition revoked for failing to submit the required evaluation reports on time.

Patil highlighted that, in line with the New Education Policy, a four-year B.Ed. curriculum, known as the Integrated Teacher Training Program, has been implemented. This new program aims to enhance the quality of teacher education and align it with modern educational standards.

The minister's initiatives in both traffic management and education reflect a commitment to addressing critical issues affecting the state. By leveraging advanced technology and regular monitoring, the government hopes to create a more efficient and safer environment for residents of Pune and beyond.
