Mumbai: A state holiday and three days of mourning have been declared in Maharashtra following the tragic demise of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. The NCP leader, fondly referred to as Dada, lost his life in a fatal plane crash in Baramati this morning. Meanwhile, a massive crowd has gathered outside Baramati hospital, where the mortal remains of Ajit Pawar have been brought. Additionally, public interest in Pawar's personal life has also heightened following his demise. Along with inquiries about his wife, family, and work, his followers are also wondering about his net worth.

Ajit Pawar declared his net worth during the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the last available public record. At the time, he declared possessing assets worth ₹45.37 crore. Out of this, he listed ₹8.22 crore in movable assets (cash and bank deposits, fixed deposits, bonds, and shares). The additional ₹37.15 crore made up immovable assets such as agricultural and residential properties, and other real estate investments.

In his affidavit, he declared ownership of two cars - a Toyota Camry and a Honda CR-V. Additionally, the affidavit also listed Ajit Pawar's liabilities amounting to ₹21.39 crore. As per select reports, the NCP leader had a collective net worth of ₹124 crore, if considering family assets.

According to the DGCA, five people, including the crew, on board the chartered plane flying from Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Baramati died after a crash-landing at 8.45 am this morning. The crash landing of the Mumbai-Baramati charter plane occurred at the runway threshold in Baramati. Pawar was onboard along with 2 more personnel (1 PSO and 1 attendant) and 2 crew members.

The preliminary report suggests that the plane crashed after the pilot attempted to land it for the second time, after being unable to do so the first time due to poor visibility. Upon landing, the aircraft overran the Baramati runway, leading to the crash. A massive fire broke out thereafter, and all onboard succumbed to severe injuries. Pawar was headed to Baramati to attend a public rally for the Zilla Parishad Elections.
