Amitabh Bachchan Expands Real Estate Empire with 25,000-Square-Foot Plot in Ayodhya
Real Estate:Amitabh Bachchan has once again expanded his real estate portfolio by acquiring a 25,000-square-foot plot of land in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. This marks his fourth significant real estate investment in the city, solidifying his presence in the region. According to reports, the veteran actor purchased the plot for nearly Rs 40 crore.

The sprawling piece of land is located close to The Sarayu, a luxury development project by The House of Abhinandan Lodha. The Sarayu is known as one of the most high-end residential enclaves in Ayodhya, making this a strategic investment for the 82-year-old actor.

This isn't Amitabh Bachchan's first investment in Ayodhya. Earlier this year, he acquired a 54,454-square-foot plot roughly 10 km from the Ram Temple. Registered under the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust, the land is reportedly intended for building a memorial honoring his father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

In 2024, Bachchan purchased a 10,000-square-foot plot in The Sarayu for around Rs 14.5 crore, according to The Economic Times. Even before the grand opening of the Ram Mandir in 2024, the actor had invested in a 5,372-square-foot plot in Haveli Avadh, for which he reportedly paid Rs 4.54 crore, as per Mint.

Amitabh Bachchan has been actively involved in real estate transactions in recent years. In September 2023, he bought four office units, spanning 8,400 square feet, for Rs 29 crore in the Signature Building in Andheri West, Mumbai. In June 2024, he acquired three additional units in the same building for nearly Rs 60 crore, as reported by News18.

In December 2023, Bachchan rented out the four commercial units he had purchased earlier that year. They were leased to Warner Music Pvt Ltd for a monthly rent of Rs 17.30 lakh, according to Hindustan Times.

In October 2024, Amitabh and his son Abhishek Bachchan jointly acquired 10 apartments in the Oberoi Eternia project in Mumbai's Mulund area for Rs 24.95 crore, as reported by The Indian Express.

In January 2025, Bachchan sold a 5,185-square-foot duplex apartment in Mumbai's Andheri area for Rs 83 crore. He had purchased this property in April 2021 for Rs 31 crore, as reported by The Times of India. Additionally, the veteran actor bought a 10,000-square-foot land parcel in Alibaug for Rs 10 crore in April 2024, according to The Times of India.

These transactions highlight Amitabh Bachchan's strategic approach to real estate investments, leveraging his vast experience and financial acumen to secure prime properties in key locations across India.
