Amitabh Bachchan Expands Real Estate Portfolio with 2.67 Acres in Ayodhya for Rs 35 Crores
Veteran Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has further expanded his real estate footprint with the purchase of a 2.67-acre land parcel in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, for approximately ₹35 crore. The transaction was confirmed on March 6 by real estate developer The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), which facilitated the deal.
The acquisition adds to Bachchan’s growing list of property investments in the rapidly developing temple town. According to the developer, the purchase was executed by Rajesh Yadav, Managing Director of AB Corp Ltd, the Bachchan family’s company.
The newly acquired land lies near HoABL’s 75-acre luxury plotted development called “The Sarayu.” The project is located close to the banks of the Sarayu River and is part of a broader push to develop premium residential plots in Ayodhya.
This latest purchase marks Bachchan’s third investment in Ayodhya through HoABL and his fourth overall collaboration with the developer. The actor had earlier bought land parcels within the same development in 2024.
Beyond Ayodhya, Bachchan has also invested in other HoABL projects, including a 10,000-square-foot plot at the “Sol de Alibaug” development in Maharashtra. These acquisitions highlight the actor’s steady interest in plotted developments and land-based real estate assets.
Ayodhya has seen a surge in real estate investment in recent years, particularly after the construction of the Ram Mandir, which has significantly boosted tourism and infrastructure development in the city. Improved connectivity, road expansions, and the creation of new transport facilities have turned the temple town into a major investment destination.
Developers and investors believe that the city’s religious significance, combined with rising tourism and government-backed infrastructure projects, will continue to drive property demand. As a result, both residential and hospitality projects are increasingly being planned to accommodate the growing number of visitors.
Commenting on the transaction, Abhinandan Lodha, chairman of HoABL, described the investment as part of a broader vision around long-term land ownership. He stated that Bachchan’s purchase reflects a shared belief that land can serve as an intergenerational asset that preserves value over time.
Lodha also highlighted that Ayodhya holds unique cultural and spiritual significance, making land ownership there particularly meaningful. According to him, ongoing public investment and infrastructure upgrades are helping transform the city into an attractive destination for long-term real estate investment.
Bachchan’s latest acquisition underscores the increasing interest among high-profile investors in Ayodhya’s property market. With the city evolving into a key religious and tourism hub, the demand for premium land parcels and plotted developments is expected to rise in the coming years.
For Bachchan, whose real estate portfolio spans multiple locations across India, the investment signals continued confidence in Ayodhya’s growth story, where faith, heritage, and economic opportunity are converging in one of the country’s fastest-evolving temple towns.
