Aurangabad: Employee Steals Rs 21.59 Crore from Sports Complex, Funds Luxurious Lifestyle
Real Estate Pune:In a massive fraud case in Aurangabad, Harshkumar Anil Kshirsagar, a 21-year-old employee of the divisional sports complex in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, has been accused of embezzling Rs 21.59 crore from the sports complex’s bank account.
The scam came to light a few days ago, and Harshkumar, who hails from Ambad, Jalna, and currently resides on Beed By-pass Road, remains at large.
His accomplices, Yashoda Shetty and her husband Jeevan Vinjada, have already been arrested by the police.
Additionally, Harshkumar’s girlfriend, Arpita Wadkar, was apprehended from the Koparkhairne area in Navi Mumbai on Saturday.

On Sunday, the police conducted extensive interrogations with Arpita at the police commissionerate.
The Chief Police Officer, Pravin Pawar, personally oversaw the inquiry.
It has been revealed that Harshkumar used the embezzled funds to purchase an ultra-luxurious flat worth Rs 1.5 crore in Arpita's name in a posh locality near the airport.
Another flat in her name was also purchased in the Aloknagar locality.

Despite hours of questioning, Arpita has not provided any crucial information to the police, leading them to consider extending her police custody.
Arpita, an athlete, comes from a simple family in Koparkhairne, Navi Mumbai.
She has three sisters, and her father is paralyzed.
She had been living with Harshkumar in the city for the past few months, and they met at the divisional sports complex in 2021.

Harshkumar, a contractual employee at the sports complex, orchestrated the fraud by sending a message to the bank to release funds in his name.
He cleverly altered just one letter of the official email ID of the divisional sports complex and sent a forged letter on the letterhead of the director.
With the stolen Rs 21.59 crore, he not only purchased luxurious flats but also bought expensive cars.

Officers from the divisional sports complex and the bank were also interrogated on Sunday to gather more details about the fraudulent activities.
The police are working tirelessly to track down Harshkumar and recover the stolen funds.
