Bakeri Group and Lumos Alternate Collaborate on ₹500-Crore Real Estate Fund for Mid-Market Housing
Real Estate Mumbai:Bakeri Group, a prominent real estate developer, and Lumos Alternate, an investment management company, have collaborated to launch a ₹500-crore real estate investment platform called Sakar Realty Fund - I.
This SEBI-approved platform is designed to invest in mid-market residential projects in major Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Pune, with an investment horizon of 3-4 years per project.

The platform aims to attract a diverse range of investors, including high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), family offices, and institutional investors.
The companies announced that this initiative is expected to provide superior returns to its investors by leveraging the extensive experience and execution capabilities of Bakeri Group, which has delivered over 42 million square feet of premium real estate over the last six decades.

Platform deals are quite common among institutional investors, but retail investors and family offices often lack direct access to such deals.
Sakar Realty Fund - I seeks to bridge this gap by offering a regulated investment vehicle that allows a broader range of investors to participate in high-quality real estate projects.
This fund provides investors the opportunity to partner with one of the most trusted and experienced developers at an early stage and on pre-defined terms.

Anuranjan Mohnot, the Managing Director and CEO of Lumos Equity Advisors Private Limited, highlighted the benefits of a pre-structured deal with a credible developer.
'A well-structured deal creates a win-win situation for both investors and developers.
Developers gain confidence in the availability of equity on call, while investors benefit from a well-defined corporate governance framework and return structure with their preferred developer.
The platform also ensures rigorous monitoring and timely enforceability of contracts through an independent asset management company and investment committee,' he said.

Founded in 1959, Bakeri Group is based in Ahmedabad and has a rich history of creating landmark residential and commercial projects.
The group has delivered over 150 real estate projects, covering more than 42 million square feet of premium real estate across India.
Lumos Alternate, on the other hand, specializes in alternative investments and is known for launching multiple real estate funds, including the first real estate fund of Motilal Oswal and the Lalbhai Group’s Amplus Realty Fund.

Sakar Realty Fund - I is poised to make a significant impact in the mid-market housing segment by providing institutional-grade investment opportunities to a wider audience, thereby fostering growth and development in key urban centers across India.
