Positive Pay Confirmation is an electronic authentication mechanism where customers are required to share key cheque details with the bank before a high-value cheque is processed. This helps in verifying and securely processing high-value cheques without re-confirmation calls.
Currently, Positive Pay Confirmation is mandatory for cheques of Rs 5 lakh and above. However, the threshold will be gradually reduced to Rs 2 lakh and above by November 1, 2025.
You can submit cheque details through various channels such as mobile banking (Baroda M-Connect Plus), net banking (BOB iBanking), branch visits, SMS, call center, WhatsApp banking, and the bank’s website. Ensure you submit the details before handing over the cheque to the beneficiary.
If you do not submit the required cheque details for Positive Pay Confirmation, the cheque may not be processed, and it could lead to delays or rejection. It is crucial to follow the steps to ensure seamless and secure cheque clearance.
The new thresholds will be implemented in phases: Rs 4 lakh and above from May 1, 2025, Rs 3 lakh and above from August 1, 2025, and Rs 2 lakh and above from November 1, 2025.
