The key stations on the proposed metro line include Nelamangala, Weaver’s Colony, Budihal, T Begur, Sompura Industrial Area, Dobbspet, Kyathsandra, Tumakuru bus stand, TUDA Layout, and Sira Gate.
The expected cost of the metro extension project is Rs 350 crore per km, which is higher compared to the suburban rail cost of Rs 100-150 crore per km.
The potential benefits include improved connectivity, reduced travel time for commuters, and significant relief from traffic congestion, particularly for IT employees residing in the extended areas.
The construction work is expected to begin once the project receives approval from the central government.
