Credai Bengaluru is concerned about the requirement for a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Jakkur Government Flying Training School, which is causing significant delays in residential project approvals.
The DGCA has not renewed the licence for GFTS, Jakkur, since December 2023 due to several safety-related observations, including a reduced runway length and outdated equipment.
The GFTS NOC requirement is causing significant project delays and creating administrative holdups, which are detrimental to the rapidly growing residential market in Bengaluru.
The safety concerns include risks to dense infrastructure such as malls, schools, hospitals, and transport systems due to the limited and outdated operational capabilities of GFTS.
Credai is urging the Karnataka Urban Development Department to instruct the BBMP to revoke the NOC mandate from GFTS, as it is causing unnecessary delays and uncertainties in the real estate sector.
