VMRDA has planned a modern 6-lane express road network between Visakhapatnam city and Bhogapuram, as well as 15 new roads, including several greenfield routes, to connect the airport.
The airport is expected to significantly boost the real estate sector by attracting more IT companies, high-end hotels, and resorts, and by creating new housing developments, such as the proposed 5,000 houses between Bheemili and Bhogapuram.
The authorities will strictly enforce the airport funnel zone limits to ensure safety and compliance with aviation regulations, particularly in light of the recent Ahmedabad air crash.
The road development projects are estimated to cost Rs 390 crore, and they are being developed through a collaboration between VMRDA, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, and the roads and buildings department.
