Birthday Bash at Resort Ends in Police Raid: 39 Arrested
Real Estate:A high-profile liquor party held in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat, a ‘dry state,’ has come to light. The party took place late at night on July 20 at Glade Golf Resort in Sanand. Sanand police raided the resort during the event.

Around 100 people were present when the police arrived. After an initial screening, a total of 39 individuals (13 young men and 26 young women) were found to be intoxicated. They were taken into custody and sent to Civil Hospital late at night for medical tests.

Later, they were brought to the Sanand police station around 3 a.m. A case was registered, and all 39 individuals were arrested. Police said the party was hosted by real estate businessman Pratik Sanghi to celebrate his birthday.

The police operation lasted until morning. Four police buses and a car were used to take the people to the hospital for tests. Because a large number of people were caught drunk, the operation took a long time. As several young men and women were involved, their families also reached the police station.

DySP Neelam Goswami said the police conducted the raid on the night of 20 July after receiving a tip-off. The team included staff from Sanand, Aslali, Changodar, and Bopal police stations, along with two panchayat officers. It was confirmed that the party was organised by Pratik Sanghi. Breathalyser tests showed that 13 men and 26 women were in a drunken state. Blood samples were also taken for further testing. The police also seized five sealed bottles of liquor. A case has been filed under the Prohibition Act and legal action is underway.

The party was organised by Pratik Sanghi, a businessman working in real estate and the frozen food industry. His wife was also found to be drunk at the party. Police said Sanghi had hosted the party at the resort for his birthday and invited friends. He himself arranged for the liquor. He is also a partner in a company called Hindustan Agro and Tuber Food.

Tuber Food is a large frozen food company based in Kalol. Pratik Sanghi is a partner in this company and also works in real estate. Police are continuing to investigate the matter.

Ahmedabad Rural SP Om Prakash Jat said a case was registered against 39 people, including 26 women, after the raid at Glade One Resort. A team of more than 50 officers carried out the operation. Police found 20 empty alcohol bottles at the scene, and the FSL team is testing hookah samples found there. Alcohol for the party was supplied by a man named Mit.

The SP added that if any club staff are found involved, action will be taken against them. All weekend villas and resorts in the area are now being investigated.
