Nayak allegedly cheated a businessman, Bijay Rout, by promising to provide plots and jointly setting up a real estate firm, but failed to deliver and instead misused the funds.
Nayak took Rs 12.42 crore from Bijay Rout over several transactions between 2015 and 2021.
Nayak issued three cheques amounting to Rs 10.5 crore to Rout, but all the cheques were rejected by the banks due to insufficient balance and deliberate mismatched signatures.
