The purpose of the awareness campaign by BMC is to educate homebuyers in Bhubaneswar about the importance of key real estate certificates such as the Occupancy Certificate (OC), Completion Certificate (CC), and Encumbrance Certificate (EC). The campaign aims to protect buyers from legal issues and ensure transparency in property transactions.
The key real estate certificates that homebuyers should be aware of include the Occupancy Certificate (OC), which confirms that a building is fit for occupation; the Completion Certificate (CC), which verifies that the construction has been completed as per the approved plans; and the Encumbrance Certificate (EC), which ensures that there are no legal disputes or liens on the property.
The Occupancy Certificate (OC) is important because it confirms that a building is fit for occupation and meets all safety and regulatory standards. Without an OC, a property may not be legally allowed to be occupied, which can lead to significant legal and safety issues for the homebuyer.
BMC will conduct the awareness drive through a series of workshops, seminars, and informational sessions in various parts of Bhubaneswar. They will also distribute informational pamphlets and brochures and leverage social media platforms to reach a broader audience.
The Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (ORERA) plays a crucial role in regulating the real estate market in Bhubaneswar by enforcing the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA). ORERA ensures that developers comply with legal and regulatory requirements, protecting the interests of homebuyers and promoting transparency in property transactions.
