The 120ft development plan (DP) road from Magathane to Goregaon is a long-awaited project aimed at improving connectivity and infrastructure in the region. It involves the demolition of illegal structures and the relocation of affected persons.
Project affected persons (PAPs) are individuals and families who are displaced or affected by the construction of the 120ft DP road. They are provided with new residences through a lottery system and other support measures.
The BMC faced a six-month delay following its own order, primarily due to the need for consistent follow-up and documentation. The delay was also influenced by the technical challenges and the need to address the concerns of affected residents.
The LRA played a crucial role by filing the petition and rigorously following up with the BMC to ensure the timely implementation of the DP road. They also ensured that the affected residents were treated with respect and provided with the best available PAPs.
The 120ft DP road is expected to be completed by January 2026, following the ongoing demolition and relocation processes.
