Bollywood Couple Takes Ownership of Vijay Mallya’s Luxurious Kingfisher Villa in Goa
Real Estate News:The iconic Kingfisher Villa in Goa, once a symbol of Vijay Mallya’s lavish lifestyle, has found new owners in Bollywood actor Sachiin Joshi and his wife, former actress Urvashi Sharma. This luxurious property, now known as King's Mansion, was purchased in 2017 for Rs 73.01 crore. Previously renowned for its extravagant parties, the Kingfisher Villa was synonymous with the high-flying lifestyle of Mallya, often referred to as the 'King of Good Times'.

Following allegations of a Rs 900 crore loan default involving IDBI Bank, the villa was seized by a consortium of banks led by the State Bank of India. After several unsuccessful attempts to auction the property, Sachiin Joshi finally clinched the deal in 2017. The villa spans a substantial 12,350 square feet and is set on a three-acre plot. It boasts luxurious amenities, including private swimming pools, manicured lawns, and spacious dance floors. Joshi’s decision to rename the property as King's Mansion aligns with his brand, King's Beer, establishing a connection to the former owner’s legacy.

Bollywood Meets Business

Sachiin Joshi, known for films such as Azaan and Jackpot, is also a successful businessman. His company, Viiking Ventures, operates in various sectors, including hospitality and wellness. At the unveiling of the King's Mansion, Joshi expressed enthusiasm about sharing the property with the public, stating, 'Today is the day I open the gates to the world. The property has been coronated as the 'King's Mansion'… the brand connection from 'King’s Beer' and the inherent grandeur of the property made the choice.'

While Vijay Mallya remains in the UK, entangled in legal proceedings, the sale of the Kingfisher Villa marks one of the few recoveries made by Indian banks in their quest to reclaim funds from the former tycoon.

The Story of Sachiin Joshi

Sachiin Joshi, son of Jagdish Joshi, founder of the JMJ Group of Industries, is an Indian actor and entrepreneur. He made his Hindi film debut with Azaan in 2011, followed by Mumbai Mirror and Jackpot, and also featured in several Telugu films. He played the Telugu version of Aditya Roy Kapur’s character in Nee Jathaga Nenundali, a remake of Aashiqui 2. He is married to former actress Urvashi Sharma.
