The attack took place in Lucknow's Vibhuti Khand area.
The dispute was reportedly over a minor issue that had been brushed off by the victim, Shivam.
According to sources, around 40-45 people were involved in the attack.
Shivam suffered a severe injury to his eye, which was struck by an iron rod, and received around 10 stitches on his face.
Shivam is currently undergoing treatment at IMS Hospital in Gomti Nagar.
