The four projects are: 1) Double Tracking of the New Delhi - Kanpur Section, 2) Electrification of the Howrah - Patna Section, 3) Third Line Project in the Mumbai Suburban Railway, and 4) Fourth Line Project in the Chennai Suburban Railway.
These projects will enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and improve the overall efficiency and reliability of the rail services. They will also help in decongesting existing lines and make the network more environmentally friendly.
The total distance added to the rail network by these four projects is 894 kilometers.
These projects will create numerous job opportunities, attract more investments, boost trade, and enhance the quality of life for residents in the regions they serve.
The government's vision is to modernize and expand the rail network, aligning with the broader goal of transforming India into a global transportation hub and supporting the Make in India initiative.
