The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) is the governing body responsible for the administration and management of the city of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. It ensures the provision of essential services and maintains public health and safety standards.
The CSMC conducted this crackdown to ensure that all meat shops operate within the legal framework and to protect public health and safety. The illegal sale of meat can pose significant health risks and violate municipal regulations.
A total of 25 meat shops were inspected during the operation in Zone No. 4 of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Seven shops were found to be operating without the necessary permits and certificates. They were fined a total of Rs14,000, and about 1,245 kg of meat and related items were seized. An illegal establishment named Razia Beef Shop was also demolished.
Residents can report any suspicious activities or illegal operations to the CSMC through their official helpline or by visiting the local municipal office. The CSMC encourages community participation in maintaining a safe and compliant business environment.
