The main reason for the lawsuit is the alleged infringement of Macrotech Developers' trademarks, specifically the 'Lodha' and 'Lodha Group' names, by HoABL.
Abhinandan Lodha is the younger brother of Abhishek Lodha, the MD of Macrotech Developers. He left Macrotech Developers in 2015 to start his own real estate company, HoABL.
Abhishek Lodha has stated that he has a lot of affection for his brother and has supported him, but the legal dispute is purely a corporate issue and not a personal one.
Macrotech Developers reported an 88% increase in net profit to Rs 944.4 crore for the quarter ended December, with total income rising to Rs 4,146.6 crore.
Macrotech Developers has delivered approximately 100 million square feet of real estate and is currently developing over 110 million square feet under its ongoing and planned portfolio.
